I had a great experience this summer which led me to rediscover you all. Last year I got sick nothing to serious a small bout with prostate cancer. But I am one of the lucky ones I survived they found it early and I'm doing great but here's my point . While I was sick I decided I would do some things I always put off and one of those was to go to a dci finals so we did . We went to Denver in August and had a great time and while I was there it got me thinking about the past and so I found the Optimists alumni site and also all of you.

Here's a small rundown and update as to what I've been doing for the last 38 years wow could it be that long. I guess it is. Well here goes.

As most of you know I was a member of Canadian Conspiracy the band which I stayed with till 1979. We had a lot of great success did a lot of recording for Capital had a couple of hit records. It was great toured as an opening act for a lot of people ( Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Peter Nero, some others as well. But in 1979 we had done enough touring and I came home to Toronto and settled down. It lasted about a year when I had an opportunity to go back on the road in the US with my own band. The bad part is it cost me my wife of 10 years. so in the 80's I toured down here and did a lot of work in Vegas and Atlantic City as well as Cruise ships. Toured Europe a couple of times also.

But around 1982 I sort of settled in Knoxville Tenn. Stayed there kept playing with my own band by the way ( Alex Glover & Company} Started to get more and more work in Atlantic City around 1986 so I moved here where I've been living since around 1987 with my current wife who's also a member of the band an amazing keyboard , piano , arranger. Around 1993 we decided we'd had enough of the road and at the time I was offered a job with an Entertainment agency ( Center Stage Entertainment) I went in to it Kicking and screaming.

I've managed to keep the group together and we play a lot of casino events as well as corporate and weddings. Its a big band 9 piece's. I work in the daytime as an agent for the casino's booking their entertainment. Everything you can think of from musicians to magic to physics' and everything in between.
