Interview with John O'Hara

John how did you become a member of the corps?

 

After seeing York at our first Nationals in Kitchener. John, Tom, & I were members of the Richmond Hill Hilltoppers and thought we had died and gone to Heaven.

 

What year and how old were you when you joined?

 

18 The year 1963/64

 

What position in the corps did you fill?

 

Colour Guard and Rifle

 

What is you most vivid memory of your time in the corps?

 

Flying to L.A. on a Sper Constellation. The plane seemed huge at the time. There is one on display by the Airport, I think on airport Road…It aint so big.

 

What did you do when you left the corps?

 

Joined the Commanders with Tom Stelling

 

What have you been doing for a living?

 

Working, Working, Working.  Bringing up 5 children a wife and a cat. The cat likes me.

 

What are you doing today?

 

Went over to the dark side.  Joined the Cobourg Legion Pipes and drums and I am now reaching out to a new market.
